Matt Milligan is a New York City-based artist working in photography, poetry, and prose. He layers and manipulates photographs to create a tangible connection between image and subject—physical presence and story, and photograph as physical object. For example, he uses the bay leaves from the restaurant’s kitchen to tone the images in "Alain's Burden.” He has exhibited work in the US, Slovenia, and Taiwan.
